The Fig Tree (At-Tin)

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.

1By the fig and the olive.

2And the mount of Sinai.

3And this city of security.

4We have indeed created man in the best of molds.1

5Then do We abase him to be the lowest of the low.2

6Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: for they shall have a reward unfailing.

7Then what can contradict you after this; as to the judgment?

8Is not Allah the wisest of judges?

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

1Wat tini wazaitun

2Wa tun sinina

3Wa hazal baladil amin

4Laqad halaqna linsana fi ahsani taqwim

5Suma radadnahu asfala safilin

6Ilal lazina amanu wa amilu salihati falahum ajrun gairu mamnun

7Fama yukaz zibuka badu bidin

8Alaisa lahu bi ahkamil hakim

1. Please refer to Qur’an 76, note 2.

2. Allah is to be likened to a mad scientist who major function is experimentation. He designs and then destroys what he has designed. God Almighty made mankind in His very own image and does not abase mankind till mankind brings divine judgment on himself.
