In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.
1When the earth is shaken to her convulsion.
2And the earth throws up her burden.1
3And man cries: `What is the matter with her?í
4On that day will she declare her tidings:
5For that your Lord will have given her inspiration.
6On that day will men proceed in companies, sorted out to be
shown the deeds they had done.
7Then shall anyone who has done an atomís weight of good see it!
8And anyone who has done an atomís weight of evil shall see it.

1. The burden of the earth in this circumstance
is the dead bodies which will be expelled from the bottom of the earth in a
violent earthquake. Though Farid thinks it is about the treasures of the
earth and a sudden surge of knowledge of all kinds. George Sale refers to
the treasures and dead bodies as the treasures of the earth.
