Divine Support (An-Nasr)

In the name of Allah, Gracious, Merciful.

1When comes the help of Allah and victory.

2And you see the people enter Allahís religion in crowds.1

3Celebrate the praises of your Lord and pray for His forgiveness: for He is often returning.2

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

1Iza ja a nasrul lahiwalfath

2Wa ra aitan nasa yadhuluna fi dinilahi afwaja

3Fasabih bihamdi rabika was tagfir inahu kana tawaba

1. The victory mentioned in verse one is over Mecca. Muhammad never forgave the people of Mecca for running him and his followers from out of town. He dreamt of one day marching into Mecca and taken his tribal shrine and assume his place in the community as a tribal leader. So after amassing wealth and a considerable following, he marched against Mecca with 10,000 men and forced the people of Mecca to surrender to him. This happened in 630 A.D.

2. Another case for Muhammadís sinfulness, a confirmation that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God Almighty. Once again Muhammad was told to ask for forgiveness.
