All right, whats this all about?

Here are the most common questions about this website.

1.  Who publishes this website?

2. What happened to the original comic book, Mohammed's Believe It or Else!?

3. When will the original comic book return?

4. Were you guys hacked by anyone?

5. Where do I purchase printed copies of the original comic book?

6. How can I download PDF files of the original comic book?

7. How can I reach Robert Morey to let him know how disappointed I am at how he has treated your original webmaster?

1. Who publishes this website?

The IslamComicBook.com website is posted by an individual who wishes to remain anonymous. The webmaster has help from a number of people around the world who provide translation services and other support. These people also generally wish to remain anonymous. Some don't, most do; you will find their name on the pages when they do not wish to remain anonymous.

2. What happened to the original comic book, Mohammed's Believe It or Else!?

The original webmaster -- who no longer runs this website -- had entered into an agreement with Robert Morey, who developed Mohammed's Believe It or Else! after following some of the advice provided to Morey by our original webmaster. The original webmaster of the site had provided to Morey the name and number of the comic book artist, and had contacted the comic book artist on behalf of Morey, so that negotiations could begin as to the development of the printed edition of the comic book. The webmaster also recommended the terms and amount of payment for the artist's services.

In exchange for these services, the webmaster asked for the rights to publish the comic book on the Internet, including multiple languages. Morey granted this right under an oral agreement, which was witnessed. After the original webmaster published the printed comic book Mohammed's Believe It or Else! on line as the Islam Comic Book, it received nearly 1,000,000 page views. After the success of the comic book due to our website, Morey has now threatened the original Islam Comic Book webmaster with litigation and has taken the webmaster's work product without paying royalties to the webmaster's foreign translators. The webmaster has over 2,500 hours into management of the Islam Comic Book website, all without compensation or royalties.

The Islam Comic Book has a new webmaster now, and he won't be nearly as gracious as our original webmaster was. Our original webmaster has gone on to other things.

At the heart of our original webmaster's concern is the breach of promise under which our original webmaster provided the contact information for the artist and the other advice that was needed in the early days of the development of the project -- the comic book was to be printed on inexpensive paper and was to be given away by Morey for free (or for at most a few pennies to cover costs) to inner city black youth being tempted by Black Muslims.

Morey breached this agreement and, after using our original webmaster's information, instead printed the comic book on slick, expensive paper, creating a comic book that originally sold for about $6. It now sells for about $4 and, due to its expensive paper, costs far more to print than it should have cost, given its original intent as a "missionary publication." In short, its ministry value is zero as a missionary publication. But, man, can it make money for Morey!

Do you see why the new webmaster of the Islam Comic Book wants to create another edition?

3. When will the original comic book return?

We don't know. Probably never. As soon as we are able, we will create another Islam Comic Book and start all over again. But we'll also print up inexpensive copies and distribute them for free in inner city churches, which was the intent of our original webmaster when he helped in the development of the first comic book. You can count on that!

4. Were you guys hacked by anyone?

No. We were locked out for a while as the DNS numbers were changed. The problem was on the part of our new hosting provider, by which the DNS numbers failed to point correctly to http://islamcomicbook.com. We own the http://islamcomicbook.com URL, of course, but our website was hosted for a short while on Morey's servers. We're now hosted elsewhere.

Morey's own webmaster, James Mulroney, went in to our site files and changed our index.htm page without our webmaster's permission. (That's a no-no, James. You were hosting our site, not running it. You should have informed Morey of your fiduciary responsibility to us. But then, you were just following orders, ja-vohl?)

5. Where do I purchase printed copies of the original comic book?

If you want to buy the original Mohammed's Believe It or Else! comic book in printed form for the overpriced MSRP of $3.95, click here. And no, we don't make any money off them. Too bad he can't see past his own financial insecurities to work with people like us, who work diligently and efficiently toward a common goal.

6. How can I download PDF files of the original comic book?

You can click here to do that. Note that the file is quite large -- about 7 megs -- but it is suitable for printing on a web press, if you wish to do that sort of thing.

7. How can I reach Robert Morey to let him know how disappointed I am at how he has treated your original webmaster?

You can write to Morey at this address. We are sure that he will appreciate your input.
